Netflix stops DVD Rentals introduces Qwikster and Games

by Player911 2 Comments

Today, Reed Hastings, Co-Founder and CEO, of Netflix made an official statement declaring that Netflix will no longer deal with physical DVD rentals and will focus solely on their streaming service.

Don't panic yet though as they WILL still be sending out DVD discs but under a different name, Qwikster. Their new service will be available in a few months and will also sport Game Rentals as an additional monthly charge.

So what we'll see is two separate services providing two separate functions. Reed Hastings promised no more price hikes so, while there is no official Qwikster pricing information, it will be estimated to follow the current Netflix price structure of around $10 a month for 1 disc at a time.

I might actually upgrade to Streaming plus DVD/Game rental if they offer a good game library.
